We have now received updated guidance from the Chief Dental Officer as to how we can deliver dentistry during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
We have been advised to radically reduce the number of routine check-ups we see by cancelling patients from vulnerable groups. Please visit www.nhs.uk. We are also offering cancellations to anyone else who wishes to do so to reduce the need to travel and have close contact with others.
We have considered the potential risk of asymptomatic patients attending the practice for dental treatment and we will reduce exposure from these patients to infection by avoiding all aerosol generating procedures wherever possible. This will mean that we are unable to carry out ultrasonic scaling and will where possible avoid the use of our drills hence limiting the types of fillings we can place.
We request that if you have any form of cold, flu like symptoms, not just the high temperature or cough, or feel at all unwell DO NOT ATTEND your appointment but stay at home and contact us to cancel and rearrange your appointment. Meanwhile for your safety we will be making sure all our staff are not displaying any symptoms either.
In order to avoid other patients in our waiting room and allow social distancing we ask if you come by car you wait in your car, and we will contact you when your dentist is ready. If you walk, then we will discuss arrangements with you.
We will be able to treat dental emergencies for all asymptomatic patients. Please contact us if you are unsure.
We apologise for this disruption and wish all our patients well. We ask you all to look after yourselves by following government advice on www.gov.uk
