At Wichelstowe Dental Care, we provide quality dental care for children; this is vital if they are to grow up with a happy and healthy smile.
We recommend bringing your child to the practice when their first tooth appears or just before their first birthday if teeth are later erupting. This is so that they can get used to coming to see us and because good dental habits are best learnt from an early age.
It is important that we avoid or treat any problems with baby teeth as these can lead to pain and loss of space for permanent teeth. Small children don’t have to sit in the dental chair they can sit with a parent on a normal chair, stand in the surgery or lie with their head in their parents lap until they feel able to sit on their own in the dental chair – we are very flexible.
We can offer advice on diet, tooth brushing, toothpaste and preventive treatments available. For all children over the age of three we recommend fluoride varnish applications to help protect their teeth.
